This Rockwell-Anita calculator is unusual for two reasons:
- It is the only calculator known with the Rockwell name on it that does not use Rockwell integrated circuits, instead using those from Electronic Arrays, which was a competitor of Rockwell.
- It is the only known desktop calculator with the Anita name not made in the U.K.
This may be explained if the design is from just before Rockwell bought Sumlock Anita Ltd. in 1973, when Sumlock-Anita's previous integrated circuit supplier, Marconi-Elliott, had exited the market.
It is reported that this calculator is similar to the Summit S1219, from Summit International Corp, Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S.A. It could well have been that Summit was contracted by Sumlock-Anita to supply this model,
and it was continued for some time after Rockwell bought Sumlock-Anita. If you have further information about this calculator please get in touch.
